“THE GENEVA FEEDER BOYS AND GIRLS BASKETBALL INVITATIONAL IS AN OFFICIAL QUALIFIER FOR THE 2023 ILLINOIS MIDDLE SCHOOL BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIP TO BE HELD IN CHAMPAIGN ON MARCH 17TH-19TH. ALL TEAMS FINISHING 1ST OR 2ND IN EACH DIVISION WILL QUALIFY FOR THE STATE CHAMPIONSHIP TO BATTLE TOP TEAMS FROM TOWNS THROUGHOUT ILLINOIS”.  


Pool Play Into Bracket Play - Boys Tournament

The Geneva 2023 Boys Tournament is structured as Pool Play into Bracket Play. Each division will be randomly divided into four pools for two games of pool play. During Pool Play games are randomly assigned and as a result, skill level is NOT considered. The Top team out of each pool will move to the Gold Bracket, the middle teams will move to the Silver Bracket, and the bottom teams will move to the Bronze Bracket. Teams are ranked out of each pool as:

  1. Record W/L
  2. Head to Head
  3. Points Allowed
  4. Points Diff


Each Bracket will include two games to determine bracket 1st and 2nd place. Teams finishing in 1st or 2nd in each bracket will receive an invitation to play in the State Tournament.
